In Vengeance Valley, wealthy cattle man Arch Strobie (Ray Collins) raises two sons who are always at odds. Owen Daybright (Burt Lancaster), the orphan boy who Arch took in and adopted, is as mild-mannered as Arch's biological son Lee Strobie (Robert Walker)is volatile. Lee's resentment of Owen becomes more evident than ever before when he plots to get Owen out of his way for good. The daughter of an enemy family is having Lee's child, and he sees the perfect opportunity to pin the blame on Owen, thereby taking Owen's inheritance from him. A classic good vs evil battle ensues, with plenty of wild west gun action along the way.
